Coming up – Wild in Australia

Sorry about the lack of posts this month.  I’ve just returned from 3 weeks in Australia.  I really noticed the difference in wildlife one can see without getting off the beaten track – fur seals, whales, lizards, ibises, parrots…

The fact that the most common birds included magpies, lorikeets and miners instead of crows, sparrows and mynahs.  People have resident blue tongued lizards in their back yards.  Paradise for the nature-lover – even if he is travelling with the wife and kids!

Over the next week or two I hope to get some pics and video caps of some of the things we saw up on this blog.

In the meantime, I’ll also be out collecting beetles with the kids.  We went out last night and got four small stag beetles and a huge male rhinoceros beetle – now I need a female.
